Thunderbirds Figures

No, I'm not remotely crazy enough to pay $62 for some plastic figures, but if a reader would like to surprise me for Christmas, who am I to argue.

Victorinox!

No, not a super-heroine (though it would be a cool name for one), but the makers of the famous Swiss army knives. Now, with a new twist, they also have flash drives. A flash drive I could stab people with would be even better, but this is pretty cool for now.

Concrete Palmas Vases

Designed by Israeli designer Ofir Zucker and origami artist Ilan Garibi Read. They remind me of some knick-knacks we had in my house when I was growing up in the 1970's (in harvest gold, of course).

Kearney Kapatalists T-Shirt

The fine folks at Ebbets Field Flanels produce hand-made throw-back sports jerseys and t-shirts. Pretty awesome stuff, especially if you're a retro-head like me.

Spacehawk by Basil Wolverton

Apparently, Wolverton's Spacehawk has finally been collected! Always something fresh and new and, frankly, weird, from Wolverton.

Dave Stevens' Stories & Covers

Along with Mike Wieringo, the loss of Dave Stevens really cost the world years of fantastic work. He's one of my all-time favorites.

Plushy Beholder

Unfortunately, not for sale, but you can find other weirdnesses by Travis Lampe at The Fantasy Cryland Store.

Airstream Pad Archival Print by Leah Giberson

How cool is this? I've always had a thing for the silver bullets of the road.

Pink Martini - Hang On Little Tomato

Very groovy - mellow - love the clarinet.

Churchill Shirt

Dig the shirt, but here's a example of a time I not only need to be less cheap, but also a bit less fat. Oh well - getting there! Oh, and point of order - those fingers are indicating Victory, not Peace (though we weren't likely to get one without the other back in those days).

Plum Platters and 2-Tier Serving Bowls

Love the shape, dig the color.

"Klinger" Mud Hens Jersey

How cool is that? Wear the jersey favored by arguably the most famous cross-dresser in TV history.

Power'nap

I would have called it Power'Nap 3000, but still, great product if you're into 1970's sci-fi decor.

Christmas Story Full-Size Leg Lamp

No, I don't want a little leg lamp. By golly, if I'm going to do it, I want to do it right!

Kool-Aid Reeboks

Yeah, these are from a few years ago, but I always wanted a pair. I actually found a pair at Ross Dress For Less (needed an ugly shirt for a '70s themed golf tournament), but they were the wrong size. Dang!

Underdog: The Complete Series

Speed of lightning, roar of thunder! Underdog was my first favorite superhero (along with Popeye and Fonzi).

Piegato by Matthias Ries

I'm a geek. If you're reading this, there's a good chance you're a geek. Geeks have books, and books need shelves ... they crave shelves. These shelves are pretty bitchin'! So I might buy some.

Luminaire Post by Studio Ninho

It's a lamp AND a pinboard. I don't know, I just think it's kinda cool.

Kamandi, The Last Boy on Earth

Kamandi certainly wasn't the first post-apocalyptic tale - the Victorians wrote them as well - but it is the one infused with Jack Kirby's astounding imagination. This is volume 2 of the hard cover series of reprints.

Now we just need Thundarr vs. Kamandi, and we'll be all set.

Marvel's The Avengers

Pretty damn enjoyable. Had me as charged up as a kid watching Empire Strikes Back. Hopefully they won't go back and ruin it 20 years from now.

Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse, Vols 1-4

If you haven't experienced comic strips from the "olden days", I suggest it. They were a brilliant blend of comedy and adventure that is now sadly extinct.

John Carter DVD

I rate it a solid C+, which for me is a pretty good grade for a modern movie. Hey, they screwed up the name and the marketing something fierce, but the flick was pretty fun and only moderately annoying if you're a fan of the series of books. For modern Hollywood, that's about the best you can expect.

It could have been ...

But it least it had ...

Aquaman

Okay, so the cartoons are pretty lousy (though wonderfully weird), but I'm sick of all the Aquaman trashing that goes on these days. Besides, without these cartoons, there never would have been a Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy!

Popeye Cartoons

My favorite animated super hero. If you've only ever seen the colorized versions, you need to check out the black and whites. Beautiful animation, often with miniature sets.

Bullwinkle & Rocky

One of the greats, and apparently 100% complete. Yeah, some of the material is dated, especially if you have no idea who Phil Silvers is (I think approximately 65% of all characters in the series were imitating him), but they had a great warped sense of humor and some of the best voice actors in the business.

United Underworld T-Shirt

"The sum of the angles of that rectangle is too monstrous to contemplate!" - Commissioner Gordon

Bang Shift Betty Print

Yeah - she was always hotter than Wilma.

Peel Out!

Harkens back to the days of Rat Fink!

Stamina 55-1611 InMotion E1000 Elliptical Trainer

Goodness knows, we of the middle-aged, computing generation could stand a bit more exercise, especially when you get paid to be a desk jockey.

Oh, and this one I actually did buy - today (July 14), it's only $65 at Amazon

Update: Great little product. I couldn't use it under the desk - my knees would have hit it - but I keep it next to my desk in my office and can spend 10 to 15 minutes pedaling while reading a report or article and burn 100 to 200 calories. Easy to assemble, works well (so far) - all in all, I give it high marks.
